i AM in kansas, after all...

This afternoon, the second I step out of my car to head to the track meet, the tornado sirens go off. Yep, two tornadoes in Jefferson and Shawnee counties. Lots of fun. A WAVE of middle schoolers run across the football field, jump fences, and run toward our gym. Students then had to go into our hallways to take cover. There were 800+ kids and their coaches in our building - it was chaos! Or was it hell? It was so stuffy and stinky it was all I could do to keep from getting sick. Thinking about it is making my cheeks flush!

While I was there, I had someone bend backwards and do a double-take. She goes "HIIIII!!!" Good God, it's MY friend from middle school, Katie!! Pretty interesting to say the least. She's a health teacher and track coach in Emporia. We caught up for a litttle bit and she had to keep track of her kids so I left for cooler air.

Speaking of tornadoes, the weather is getting worse again and so I need to cut this short.
