OK so yesterday was an AWFUL hair day and it was the catalyst for radical change. I called my beautician at 2:45 p.m. and asked her when I could come in for a cut. She goes, "uh, how about 3:30?" and I raced right over there (8 miles, kids out of school, crazy traffic, car running out of gas, it was drama).
I got my pixie cut back. It's not the spikey 'do that I wore in college (ugh) - just very fringey and cute. I love it.
Inspired by my own haircut, I decided to do the same for my guinea pig, Bella. She wasn't as enthused - she wrangled and writhed and turned circles around the piece of hair I was holding (imagine an animal on a tether -- of their hair). I wore her out a couple of times, and I still couldn't get it all done. Because she's a longhair, the back end gets naaasty from her waste if she doesn't keep up with it, and it really grosses me and my students out.
I got sick of wrangling with Bella, so I threw her in the bathtub for a good ol' scrubbin'. By then she was so worn out that I was able to take the scissors and finish the job. I swear there is more volume in her hair than there is in her!! She's now in Jeff's lap, curled up in a warm towel, while Jeff plays Madden football. Copperfield is ticked because I wasn't paying attention to her all night. Aahh, my happy family.
